Mumbai team wins women tennis tourney
The three-day All India inter-university women tennis competitions hosted by the GITAM deemed university were concluded here on Monday.
Visakhapatnam: The three-day All India inter-university women tennis competitions hosted by the GITAM deemed university were concluded here on Monday.
In the final match, Mumbai team won the title by defeating SRM University. Osmania and Savitri and Savitribai Phule Universities have been satisfied with the third and fourth places respectively in the tourney. Superintendent of Police (Visakhapatnam Rural District) Rahul Dev Sharma attended as a chief guest to the concluding ceremony and presented trophies to the winners and runner-up teams.
Principal, GITAM Institute of Technology K Lakshmi Prasad and secretary, Sports Board, GITAM K Ramakrishna Rao were also present. First place winner’s team comprises ShivekarPareen, DargudeAastha, Yadav Mahika and Patel Dakshata while the second place team members are Sneha Devi Reddy, Vasavi GS, Reshma Ganapathy and Suryanarayani.
