YSRCP leaders lodge plaint against Vizag East MLA
YSR Congress Party leaders lodged a complaint against Visakhapatnam East MLA Velagapudi Ramakrishna Babu alleging that the MLA is planningfor organising cockfights in the city.
Visakhapatnam: YSR Congress Party leaders lodged a complaint against Visakhapatnam East MLA Velagapudi Ramakrishna Babu alleging that the MLA is planningfor organising cockfights in the city.
The YSRCP leaders met DCP Fakeerappa on Monday and informed the police that the MLA has been making arrangements in Arilova to conduct cockfights during Sankranti festival, which is against the High Court orders.
The YSRCP leaders also alleged that the MLA and his followers are attracting the middle and poor class people to come and join the cockfights. They also mentioned that during Sankranti festival in 2017, the MLA had also supported the cockfights in the city.
Even the same informed to the police, the police did not take any action on the cockfights, the YSRCP leader Peethala Murthy Yadav alleged in the complaint.
Meanwhile, responding on a tip-off, the police made surprise checks at Krishnapuram area near Arilova area and caught 12 persons into custody while they are preparing ground for cockfights. The police registered bind over cases against the 12 accused.
