Vijayawada: CPI General Secretary Suravaram Sudhakar Reddy called upon democratic political and non-political forces to join hands to bring down BJP from power. Addressing the CPI national council meeting here on Monday, he opined that the two Left parties should focus on improving their strength.

Sudhakar Reddy said the BJP government failed to fulfill its promise to bring back black money stashed in foreign countries. He felt that the NDA government was not keen on conducting a probe on those who deposited black money in foreign banks and into the details provided in Panama and Paradise papers.

He said the minorities in the country were feeling unsecured in the wake of increasing attacks on them by Hindutva forces. He lamented that the forces were even taking control over law making bodies.

Sudhakar Reddy flayed the Union government for its failure to control gas and oil prices. He pointed out that the NDA government led by BJP had hiked oil prices several times. The poor and middle-class people have been facing several challenges due to increase in prices. He further said that the Centre had already indicated that it would hike air, rail and all kinds of transport charges.

The youth in the country were struggling due to lack of employment opportunities. Speaking on the international political issues, he said Donald Trump had secured victory in US Presidential elections due to prevailing unemployment problem in their country. An extended meeting of the CPI national council to be held in Kerala in April 25 and 29 would pass political resolutions.

CPI national committee members Hashim Faize, D Raja, K Narayana, Ramendra Kumar, Atul Kumar, Anjan, P Ravindran, Nagendranath, Amarjit Kour, CPI state secretary K Ramakrishna and several other leaders were present.
