The Public Accounts Committee (PAC), in its meeting held at AP Assembly on Monday, finds fault with the Finance Department officials for continuously going for over drawing (OD). 

Amaravati: The Public Accounts Committee (PAC), in its meeting held at AP Assembly on Monday, finds fault with the Finance Department officials for continuously going for over drawing (OD).

The PAC Chairman & YSRCP MLA Buggana Rajendranath Reddy warned the officials for not maintaining and not submitting accounts from 2014, to the Committee. Committee members questioned the government officials how could they go for more than Rs. 30,000 crore OD, during 2015-16 financial year.

The Finance department officials have failed to ensure financial discipline of State exchequer, observed the PAC members during the meeting. Even the Auditor General took objection to the finance department for over drawing the amount every month. Rajendranath Reddy exposed that government went for OD for more than 267 days during 2015-16 financial year.

The PAC demanded explanation from the Finance department officials for going for overdrawing. Rajendranath Reddy further added that the government did not maintain minimum balance of Rs. 2 crore in the bank accounts for long period.
