The incident sent shock waves in the state prompting the police officials to hasten pace in probing the case. It is learnt that Vijay Kumar is a relation of the Vedanta hospital MD.
Detailed probe is being carried out to know the socio-economic condition of the families which are kidney business. The police had already arrested Ramavath Venkateswara Naik from Durgi mandal in the district. Naik had volunteered with a unknown name — Ravuri Ravi Chowdhary and sold his kidney to a 55-year-old man who was suffering from renal disease.
