Take issues to state govt notice, Sadikara Mitra Group members told

Deputy Chief Minister KE Krishnamurthy said that the Sadikara Mitra Groups (SMGs) have to strive hard for the development of villages. Krishnamurthy has participated in the Janmabhoomi-Maa Vooru programme organised at Chityana and Koilakonda villages in Krishnagiri mandal on Monday. He suggested SMG members to bring the problems in villages to the government’s notice.

Kurnool: Deputy Chief Minister KE Krishnamurthy said that the Sadikara Mitra Groups (SMGs) have to strive hard for the development of villages. Krishnamurthy has participated in the Janmabhoomi-Maa Vooru programme organised at Chityana and Koilakonda villages in Krishnagiri mandal on Monday. He suggested SMG members to bring the problems in villages to the government’s notice.

Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Chief Minister stated one Sadikara Mitra was engaged for every 35 families to know their problems in a village. He made an appeal to people to make use of Janmabhoomi for resolving their issues. The aim of the Janmabhoomi is to know the people’s problems and resolving them, he stated and said all the eligible beneficiaries would get ration cards, pensions and cooking gas connections.

Ration cards and Chandranna Sankranti Kanuka were distributed to 65 beneficiaries in Chityala village. Addressing the meeting, the Minister said Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu had launched the Janmabhoomi programme to make people’s representatives to interact with people and understand their problems. Telugu NRIs are lauding the Chief Minister for organising Janmabhoomi programme in the state, he added.

After coming to know Chityala and Koilakonda villages are suitable for raising horticulture crops, Krishnamurthy has instructed the Joint Director of Agriculture (JDA) Uma Maheshwaramma and Assistant Director of Horticulture Raghunath Reddy to take steps in that direction. He assured the people of both villages to fill seven ponds in Krishnagiri mandal with the HNSS Canal water.

He further advised the villagers to construct individual latrines and join hands for making villages Open-Defecation Free (ODF). Earlier, Krishnamurthy has inaugurated the newly laid Cement Concrete (CC) road from Chityala to Alamkonda at a cost of Rs 3.1 crore. Special Officer Subba Reddy, former ZPTC KE Jayanna, Chityala village sarpanch Gangamma, Panchayat Raj Executive Engineer Sri Ramulu and others were present.
