The Dredging Corporation of India Limited (DCIL) has retained its maintenance dredging works at Cochin Port again. It has been continuously operating the maintenance of dredging works at Cochin Port from 2011-12.

Visakhapatnam: The Dredging Corporation of India Limited (DCIL) has retained its maintenance dredging works at Cochin Port again. It has been continuously operating the maintenance of dredging works at Cochin Port from 2011-12.

The Cochin Port had invited global tenders for maintenance of dredging during August, 2017 which is one of the major maintenance dredging projects in the country.

Though the DCIL has participated in the bidding and stood as the lowest bidder with Rs 88.51 crore and successfully retained the work in its orderbook for the next work for the next year.

The dredging works at Cochin Port is to be carried out throughout the year by pressing into service two dredgers. The DCIL is the only public-sector unit in the dredging field in India and is securing all major contracts through open competitive bidding process.
