Vijayawada: Megha Engineering and Infrastructures Limited (MEIL) proprietors PP Reddy and PV Krishna Reddy announced that Dokiparru village would be developed as a top village in the country.
They inaugurated first solar based free safe drinking water scheme which was constructed by them spending Rs 4 crore in memory of Pamireddy Krishna Reddy and Bhadramma at village on Sunday. The MEIL proprietors adopted their native village Dokiparru in Gudlavalleru mandal of Krishna district. As part of village development plans, they constructed solar drinking water project. On this occasion, the villagers also felicitated them.
Addressing the inaugural function of drinking water scheme, they appealed to the villagers to extend their cooperation for developing the village as top village in the country in next five years.
They also clarified that they were carrying out service activities in the village with love and affection as Dokiparru was their native village. All the residents of the village were their own family members, they said and added that it was the reason for them to execute various developmental programmes in the village. The villagers could stay away from diseases by consuming safe drinking water. Now the drinking water would be supplied to every household in the village free of cost, they reiterated. They recalled that they wanted to introduce drinking water scheme in the village in 1980s but it did not materialise due to various reasons. They said that they were happy that they could fulfil their dream finally.
The MEIL proprietors also assured they would develop school and construct hospital in the village. A junior college would be established in the village soon after getting permission they said and revealed that already applications were submitted to the government in this regard. MEIL MD Krishna Reddy said that they were doing service activities voluntarily without any political motive and his family members do not have any plans to enter in politics.
He requested all the villagers to extend their cooperation for village development irrespective of their caste, creed and religion and political affiliation. CID SP Kalidas Ranga Rao, who is also native of the village, praised the services of MEIL owners for introducing various development programmes.
He said that the villagers have responsibility to extend their cooperation for village development. Rama Reddy, Sudha Rani, village sarpanch Jogi Venkateshwara Rao, former sarpanch P Veera Reddy, MRO Swarna Kumari and several villagers were also present.
