ODF drive secures Vizianagaram a place in Limca Book of Records
Vizianagaram district has secured a place in Limca Book of Records for constructing 10,000 toilets in 100 hours.
Vizianagaram: Vizianagaram district has secured a place in Limca Book of Records for constructing 10,000 toilets in 100 hours.
The district administration has undertaken Swachh Bharat as prestigious programme and started constructing toilets all over the district. It had fixed a target to provide toilet to every house and to make the district as open defecation free(ODF).
As part of it, the district had undertaken an innovative programme in March 2017 and constructed 10,000 toilets in 100 hours. This event has secured place in Limca Book of Records in 2018 edition. Collector Vivek Yadav stated that his aim was to make the district as ODF by February.
The collector said 78 per cent of targeted work is completed so far and the rest of toilets will be completed in a few days. He added the district has achieved the record with the active participation of public and officials only.
