Cockfight organisers clash, several injured

Eluru: Tension prevailed in Cheerapallu village in Kukunoor mandal of West Godavari district on Tuesday when two groups of cockfight organisers clashed.

Several people were injured when both the groups attacked each other with chairs and sticks. The police said that the injured were rushed to a nearby hospital. Both the groups entered into a verbal duel over a petty issue. Later, the matter got worse as they passed abuses verbally before attacking with sticks.

Similarly, tension prevailed in several villages of East and West Godavari districts when police personnel attempted to stop organisers from conducting the violent sport.
