Vijayawada: Villagers of Duggiralapadu and Cheruvu Madhavaram in G Konduru mandal are panicked with the movement of leopard near the village. The district forest officials confirmed that pug marks belong to a leopard.

These two villages are very close to Kondapalli reserve forest area. The villagers are suspecting that a leopard had been strayed into their villages from the Kondapalli reserve forest area and informed the forest department officials. Krishna district forest officer P Banerjee told The Hans India that a vehicle will be sent to the villages to trap the leopard.

He said the pug marks of cats look similar and they believe the they belong to the leopard. He said the district officials have to get permission from the higher officials to trap the leopard.

He said two cameras have been installed to capture the images of the leopard and the villagers were asked to be on high alert. He said a special vehicle is coming from the regional office located in Rajamahendravaram in one or two days to trap the leopard.
