Man tries to molest dumb woman
A man tried to sexually assault a 19-year-old dumb woman, his close relative, at Vanikunta village under Eepur mandal in the district on Tuesday. According to police, the accused Venkata Rao offered liquor to her father on the occasion of Kanuma festival.
Guntur: A man tried to sexually assault a 19-year-old dumb woman, his close relative, at Vanikunta village under Eepur mandal in the district on Tuesday. According to police, the accused Venkata Rao offered liquor to her father on the occasion of Kanuma festival.
When he was in an inebriated condition, he tried to rape the woman. But she was able to escape and inform the incident to her relatives. Based on a complaint, police took the accused into custody. Police registered a case and took up investigation.
In another incident, a one-and-a- half-year-old girl Bhavishya died on the spot when the compound wall fell on her at Chigurupadu village under Achampet mandal in the district on Tuesday.
The parents of the girl were busy in the festival celebrations while she was playing near a compound wall. Part of the compound wall fell on her and she died on the spot.
