Two held, 250 litres spirit seized

Excise and Prohibition officials on Tuesday arrested two persons and seized 250 litres of spirit to be used to make illicit liquor at Gadevaripalem village in Repalle mandal in the district on Tuesday.
Guntur: Excise and Prohibition officials on Tuesday arrested two persons and seized 250 litres of spirit to be used to make illicit liquor at Gadevaripalem village in Repalle mandal in the district on Tuesday.
According to Excise Circle Inspector K Venkateswara Rao, the accused, along with others, are making illicit liquor in the village. Based on information, the excise officials conducted raids and seized machines to be used to make illicit liquor and 250 litres of spirit.
On seeing the officials, the five accused fled. Hence, they launched a man-hunt to nab them. The excise officials registered a case and took up investigation.
