Tirupati: Opposition leader and YSRCP president YS Jaganmohan Reddy assured the women that he will take necessary steps for women empowerment in the state if his party is voted to power in next assembly elections.

The YSRCP chief began his 65th day Praja Sankalpa Yatra from Vikruthamala village in Srikalahasti constituency on Thursday by meeting women members in the area. Jagan said that his government will take responsibility to develop women on all fronts in the society.

Later, Ramamurthy of Vikruthamala village in Yerpedu mandal, met Jaganmohan Reddy and poured out his woes. Ramamurthy said that he belongs to SC community and his land was acquired by the government forcibly for the construction of airport without properly compensating for it.

Ramamurthy said that he moved to courts and government offices seeking compensation for his land but in vain. After hearing his pathetic story, the YSRCP chief assured Ramamurthy that justice will be done to him once the YSRCP forms the government.

In the padayatra, Jagan listened to the grievances of village women, farmers and elders. Near Govindavaram, YSRCP supporters welcomed Jagan with drum beats and dances.
