RI for DEE for taking bribe

Vizianagaram: The ACB Court in Visakhapatnam imposed three years imprisonment on deputy executive engineer who was trapped while accepting a bribe from a contractor in 2010.

DSP of ACB Shakila Banu disclosed that Md Shamsuddin, deputy executive engineer, Marketing Committee, Vizianagaram, demanded Rs 15,000 bribe from contractor K Pentam Naidu for clearing the bills relating to internal road of market yard, Gajapathinagaram.

On a tip-off, Vizianagaram DSP laid a trap and caught him red-handed while accepting the bribe at his residence. A charge sheet was filed after investigation. Judge G Jnana Suvarna Raju imposed three years imprisonment and a penalty of Rs 5,000.
