Visakhapatnam: Speakers at the round-table meeting held here on Friday under the aegis of CITU opposed the Central government’s move to privatise the Public-Sector Units.

They opposed the Centre’s move to privatise DCI and the proposal to sell 10 per cent shares in Vizag Steel plant. All the party leaders, including trade unions and employee unions, attended the meeting and expressed their views.

CITU state president Ch Narasinga Rao called upon the parties to conduct state-wide agitations opposing privatisation move. He appealed the party leaders to draw inspiration from Tamil Nadu people as they had fought unitedly and stopped the privatisation of Ennore Port and Salem Steel Plant by launching several agitations in their state.
