Arrangements underway for Republic Day fete at IGMC Stadium
District Collector B Lakshmikantham, along with Joint Collector Vijay Krishnan, Municipal Commissioner J Nivas and other officials, on Sunday inspected the arrangements being made for the Republic Day celebrations to be held at the Indira Gandhi Municipal Corporation Stadium on January 26.

Police personnel conducted rehearsal for the march past as part of the preparations. Governor ESL Narasimhan will hoist the tri- colour national flag to mark the occasion at the IGMC Stadium. Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu, Ministers, MLAs, MLCs, officials and others will attend the Republic Day celebrations on January 26.
The Collector and other officials inspected the seating arrangements for the VIPs, visitors, officials and students in the stadium. The Collector asked the officials to complete the arrangements in two days. He said special care should be taken for the protection of VIPs and entry and exit points to be managed properly to check stampede.
He said nearly 15,000 students, including children, are expected to attend the RD celebrations. Additional Joint Collector P Babu Rao, DCP Gaja Rao Bhupal, district revenue officer B R Ambedkar and officials from R and B, education, praj and other departments were present.
