As part of ‘Yek Bharat-Sresta Bharat’, Visakhapatnam city is hosting a 14-day Inter-State Youth Exchange programme from January 24 to February 7. As many as 50 youth from Punjab and 50 youth from across the state are participating in the event. The event will be inaugurated on January 25 and valedictory will be held on February 7.

Visakhapatnam: As part of ‘Yek Bharat-Sresta Bharat’, Visakhapatnam city is hosting a 14-day Inter-State Youth Exchange programme from January 24 to February 7. As many as 50 youth from Punjab and 50 youth from across the state are participating in the event. The event will be inaugurated on January 25 and valedictory will be held on February 7.

Reviewing the arrangements for the event on Saturday, Collector Pravin Kumar directed the officials to provide transportation, accommodation and other facilities to the participants. Nehru Yuva Kendra, SETVIS, Tourism, Sports and Games Departments jointly organising the event. The Youth Hostels located on the Beach Road is the main venue for the event. In all, 100 participants will be given accommodation in the Youth Hostels.

The Collector directed District Youth Coordinator G Chandana to make arrangements for the participants to witness the Republic Day celebrations to be held on January 26. The youth will visit Kailasagiri, Dharmasagaram Model Panchayat, Simhachalam temple, Gurudwar, Visakhapatnam Port, Visakhapatnam Steel Plant, Yarada Beach, Araku Vally and other tourist attractions in the district. The district administration is organising cultural programmes every day at the main venue. Additional Joint Collector A Siri, district tourism official Purnima Devi and CEO SETVIS Venkateswara Rao were present.
