Vijayawada: Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has directed the party leaders to be alert as elections are just 16 months away.

"The TDP leadership should work efficiently in every constituency. Leaders should maintain good relations with people. Over confidence will only dupe you in the end. All leaders should be on toes as make every move cautiously," this is what Chandrababu Naidu told the cadre during Government-Party coordination committee meeting.

The TDP had secured fewer seats in Kadapa, Nellore and Prakasam districts during the last elections. The TDP president instructed the leaders to work to strengthen the party in those districts.

Previously, the TDP had two opposition parties. Now it has only one opposition party to fight out with, that is YSRCP, he noted.

In Nandyal and Kakinada elections, the TDP secured 16 percent of votes additionally. Chandrababu told the party leaders to work to get the same results of 16 percent of additional votes in every constituency.

Stating that it would not take a second to fight with the Centre, Chandrababu told the partyment that the newly-carved out Andhra Pradesh state should survive for another 12 long years. "Only then, the state could get on track and find its ways of self-reliance," the AP CM said.
