Implement 50% quota for in-service docs in PG NEET
The South Indian State Government Doctors Association (SISGDA) on Sunday demanded that the Central and state government take necessary steps to implement 50 per cent quota for in-service government doctors in PG National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test(NEET).
Vijayawada: The South Indian State Government Doctors Association (SISGDA) on Sunday demanded that the Central and state government take necessary steps to implement 50 per cent quota for in-service government doctors in PG National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test(NEET).
The association said their demands were neglected for a long time and injustice was meted out to them. The SISGDA co-ordinators have announced that they would stage a protest on January 25 with black badges in the hospitals if the government fails to respond and would intensify their agitation from January 31.
Addressing media at the Press club, one of the co-ordinators from AP Dr D Jayadheer said all the doctors of SISGDA would boycott out patient (OP) duties at all the government hospitals on January 31.
He demanded for the removal of negative marks in PG entrance examination and added there should be no age limit to become assistant professor for the in-service doctors in the government medical colleges.
He said the government should add 30 marks to in-service doctors in PG NEET examination because they are already in-service and do not have time to compete with the regular students.
He said there was a need to release separate marks list for in-service doctors by adding 30 marks before announcing the result of NEET PG examinations.
Stating most in-service doctors are willing to work in government hospitals, he said they can avail the benefit of quota if reservation was allotted to them. Dr P Praveen from Telangana, Dr J Kathirvel and Dr Anusha from Tamil Nadu and Dr Ranganathan from Karnataka were present.
