Hyderabad: The Andhra Pradesh Special Status Sadhana Samiti made a fervent appeal to Telugu people living in Karnataka and Odisha and other states to vote against the BJP in the ensuing elections in their respective states for not fulfilling the promise of according special status to Andhra Pradesh.

Addressing media here on Sunday, the Samiti leaders, including the state CPI secretary K Ramakrishna, Chalasani Srinivas and cine hero Sivaji expressed their resentment over the BJP-led NDA government headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi humiliating the people of the state.

He demanded Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu to pull out his party MLAs from the Union Cabinet to mount pressure on the Centre and fight for the fulfilment of the promises made under Andhra Pradesh Re-organisation Act-2014.

He criticised Chief Minister for talking to go to the apex court to get things done while BJP AP president Kambampati Haribabu was busy in securing the post of Governor. Sanction of Visakhapatnam Railway Zone, funding to the state capital, Polavaram project and a host of other issues remained unfulfilled in gross violation of the AP Reorganisation Act by the Centre, he pointed out. Condemning the attitude of the Centre towards the state and its people, Sivaji asked the Chief Minister to call for an all-party meeting to fight for the just cause.

He also asked the state MPs to work for the people's interest during their remaining period as MPs. Making a fervent appeal, he asked Telugu people living in Karnataka and Odisha, to stand with the people of AP, during the troubled times and vote against the BJP in the ensuing elections, if it fails to deliver on the promises of Reorganisation Act.

Chalasani Srinivas said the Samiti has been fighting for the last four years on the issue and the fears of depriving the state by the Centre is turning true and appealed to people come together to fight for the interests of the state.
