Visakhapatnam: The police on Monday arrested one K Sandarsh, who duped gullible unemployed youth by promising them to provide jobs in Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) and at some other PSUs. The accused posing himself as officer in Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) duped the unemployed youth.

According to MVP Colony inspector M Mahesh, Sandarsh, a resident of MVP Colony collected over Rs six lakh from youth assuring jobs in HPCL and cheated them.

He said that it was the third time that the accused was arrested by city police and second time by MVP Colony police. He also duped youth by promising them jobs in Indian Navy by collecting Rs 2 lakh from each person. He was arrested by the Two Town police in September 2017.

Sandarsh had issued fake appointment letters to youngsters, who were realised after visiting HPCL. Based on complaint of B Bhuvan Kumar, a victim, the police arrested Sandarsh.

The complainant was lured by Sandarsh when Kumar had gone to meet his friends Dedipya and his brother Shyam. Sandarsh introduced himself as a naval commander and promised to provide employment in HPCL. He introduced himself as a RAW officer to others. Kumar and Shyam’s brother-in-law Tarun Kumar paid Rsone lakh each to the accused.
