Krishna Murthy has said, ``a mother feeds her children with her own blood in the womb and does a lot of sacrifice to raise her children. She is a substitute of God on this earth. No love can exceed or even match the love of a mother for her child.

Kurnool: ``Without Mother, anyone of us could have not been here. We are indebted to her for taking so much pain and labour to bring us into this beautiful world,’’ said Deputy Chief Minister K E Krishna Murthy. He said these words at “Ammaku Vandanam” programme organised at Indira Gandhi Memorial Higher Secondary School on Monday.

Krishna Murthy has said, ``a mother feeds her children with her own blood in the womb and does a lot of sacrifice to raise her children. She is a substitute of God on this earth. No love can exceed or even match the love of a mother for her child.

Every mother should be given due respect and must be admired for all the things she does and sacrifices she makes for her children.’’ The state government has taken up the programme “Ammaku Vandanam” on the occasion of Vasantha Panchami, he said.

“Ammaku Vandaman” programme will help the students to respect their mothers. No one should neglect mother despite growing technology. Every child should touch the feet of their mother and have to offer prayers to Saraswathi Devi. It is very unfortunate to see that several mothers are being deserted.’’ He advised the students to give respect to their “Mothers” who are the roots for their existence.

Member of Parliament (MP) Butta Renuka said, `` we all known the word “Amma” is one of the sweetest word in the universe. But, such a sweet “Amma” is being neglected by the children of this generation as they are more tending towards income.’’

Butta said, ``now it’s our time to discharge our duties towards her. We should never overlook the fact that right from the time of our birth, we are so dependent on her for every little thing. She is the one who supports us and continues to nurture us with all her heart.

Her love and affection are immeasurable.’’ Remembering the names of the rivers Ganga, Krishnamma, Yamuna and Kaveri, the District Collector S Sathyanarayana has said that all these names are of our mothers. She is the best trainer and guide of every child. She teaches us on how to take those first steps of our lives, how to speak, write and the behavioural lessons which help us to become better adults, said the Collector.

Kurnool District Commercial Co-operative Bank President, Mallikarjuna Reddy, Revenue Division Officer Hussain Saheb, District Education Officer Tahera Sultana, Sarva Siksha Abhiyam Project Officer, Rama Chandra Reddy, teachers, parents and children participated in the programme.
