Kadapa: Pulivendula police have arrested VeeranayanaPalle Tahasildar Krishna Naik on the charges of involving in land scam in ChinthalamadugupalleSociety of Veeranayanapalle mandal on Monday.
According to the Pulivendula rural CI PulipatiRamakrishnudu, the Tahasildar was responsible for issuing fake certificates to some farmers for securing crop loans in Chinthalamadugupalle Society though they were not having lands in that village.
The MRO had accepted bribe from the beneficiaries for issuing certificates with land survey numbers and the farmers got around Rs 1 crore loans from ChinthalamaduguPalleSociety for 2015-16 year. Following allegations raised from the public, the then Collector Satyanarayana ordered a probe into the issue.
Assistant Registrar of Society SK Pyajuddin enquired and found that there was no land with the survey numbers issued by Tahasildar. During the inquiry it was proved that the official confessed to the crime.
