Srikakulam: Superintendent of Police CM Trivikrama Varma on Monday said that traffic restrictions will be imposed across Srikakulam cityfrom Tuesday noon on the eve of Radha Sapathami festival at Arasavalli onWednesday.

Speaking to media here, the SP said the police have arranged seven parking places near the temple for VVIPs, VIPs, officials, duty staff, media and devotees to restrict vehicles from Gara side, city side and Khazipeta side in the wake of influx of devotees.

He said vigil has been stepped up to prevent illegal parking and a total of 30 CCTV cameras will be used in and around the temple to monitor the situation round-the-clock. Stating public address system was also arranged, Varma said two LED TV screens also arranged near the temple to provide information to the devotees on arrangements.

Five queue lines were arranged around thetemple for free darshan, VVIPs, donors, VIPs and Rs 500ticket holders and a separate queue for Rs 216 ticket holders and Rs 100ticket holders.

Eight token-cum-prasadamcounters were arranged and devotees can get prasadam where they purchase token unlike previous years, he added.
In addition, another counter was arrangedto distribute free laddu prasadams near the temple.

“We will deploy expert divers at IndraPuskarini to prevent untoward incidents,” SP said. Specialbattery-operated vehicles arranged to carry old aged and disable devotees, he said. Darhan of lord will be allowed from Tuesday night with Ksheerabhishekhams.

Additional SP TPanasa Reddy, DSP(law and order) VBhima Rao, SC/ST cell and traffic DSP ChPentarao, special branchDSP MKrishnamurthy Naidu, inspectors BP rasad and M Tirupathi Rao attended the meeting. Earlier,the SP inspected arrangements and security issues at sun god temple along with police officials.
