Srikakulam: Sun God temple at Arasavalli in Srikakulam is decked up for grand celebration of Ratha Sapthami on Wednesday. District Collector K Dhanunjaya Reddy, Joint Collector KVN Chakradhara Babu and Superintendent of Police Dr CM Trivikrama Varma made elaborate arrangements with the cooperation of police, revenue and endowments officials.

In all, 900 police personnel have been deployed to clear devotees’ rush. Thirty CCTV cameras, two LED TV screens installed to monitor situation and provide information to devotees regularly. Total seven parking lots were arranged near the temple for VVIPs, VIPs, officials, staff and the media and devotees.

RTC will ply special bus services to the temple to clear devotees rush. Medical department arranged three medical camps around the temple and two 108 vans deployed for emergency medical service.

To avoid rush, nine prasadam counters were set up to distribute free laddu prasadam to all devotees. Five queue lines were arranged for VVIPs, free darsan, donor pass holders and VIPs, Rs 500, Rs 216 and Rs 100 ticket holders separately.

Expert swimmers were deployed at Indra Pushkharini (holy tank) and two battery vehicles were arranged to serve elderly people and physically challenged devotees.

The officials sought public cooperation to avoid any untoward incident.
