Visakhapatnam: Governor ESL Narasimhan said that Andhra Pradesh would be the best administered state in the country giving maximum satisfaction to the people. The Governor inaugurated Anganwadi Centre at SR Puram on the outskirts of the city on Wednesday.

He also paid a visit to several exhibition stalls set up by Scheduled Castes Corporation and BC Corporation, Fisheries, Sarva Siksha Abhiyan, Housing Corporation and other departments.

Speaking on the occasion, Narasimhan said that villages were like towns with basic infrastructure, including roads, water supply, houses and individual toilets to every house.

The Governor complimented the local managements and said that the local authorities have been utilising the government schemes. “Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is a hard worker and will make the state, the best in the country,” Narasimhan added.

The Governor distributed ration cards and Chandranna Bima policies to the beneficiaries on the occasion and also witnessed the ‘grain initiation’ (anna prasana) ceremony which was officially organised. The Governor suggested to District Collector Pravin Kumar to change the name of Sowbhagya Raya Puram (SR Puram) as Sowbhagya Puram only after witnessing all-round development of the village.

Pendurty MLA B Satyanarayana Murthy urged the Governor to persuade with the Central government for the immediate release of special funds to the state and railway zone to Visakhapatnam. The Collector briefed the Governor about the Visakhapatnam history and highlights. HRD Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao, Anakapalli MP M Srinivasa Rao and others felicitated the Governor.
