Justice Nagarajuna Reddy inaugurated the court building complex which was constructed at a cost of Rs 3 crore at Narsipatnam in the district. Speaking on the occasion, he said that establishment of judiciary, along with the Legislature and Executive, is for the benefit of the people.

“The advocate and judge are two wheels of the chariot and both have equal responsibility to guard the judiciary system. The people, who are approaching the courts, should be treated as consumers and they are Gods to the judiciary. Advocates have to play a vital role in protecting the judiciary system. People assume that the advocates are intellectuals, as they have a detailed knowledge and aware of issues in the society,” Justice Nagarjuna Reddy said.

Speaking about the pending cases, he said that earlier cases used to be delayed for years together but now they are being cleared within five years after the Supreme Court’s directive to expedite the clearance of pending cases. With this, there is a big change in delivering the verdicts in the long pending cases, he pointed out. The ratio of long pending cases decreased from 12 per cent to six in the past 11 months due to special clearances.

Visakhapatnam district Judge PV Jyothirmayi said that Justice CV Nagarjuana Reddy is a role model to the judges. She thanked the the Minister for Roads and Buildings Ch Ayyannapatrudu, who took special attention, in completion of the building construction sans delay.
