In all, 2.26 lakh children administered polio drops as part of polio immunisation drive here on Sunday.
Srikakulam: In all, 2.26 lakh children administered polio drops as part of polio immunisation drive here on Sunday.
Minister for Transport K Atchannaidu, Government Whip K Ravi Kumar, Zilla Parishad Chairperson Ch Dhanalaxmi, MP K Rammohan Naidu and other leaders administered polio drops to the children in the age group of zero to five years at different places across the district. Speaking on the occasion, they directed the medical and health department officials to administer drops to all the children across the district. Over 1,617 centres were set up across the district at all villages, road junctions, bus stations and railway stations.
District medical and health officer Dr Sanapala Tirupathi Rao, district immunisation officer Dr Bagadi Jagannadham, deputy district medical and health officer Dr Menda Praveen supervised the arrangements.
