Visakhapatnam: The Three Town police cracked the former railway employee’s murder case and arrested J Varaprasad and A Jagadeesh here on Sunday.

While producing the accused before the media, East ACP A Narasimha Murthy said that the deceased BV Ramana Murthy had worked as Grade-I employee in railway department at Kharagpur.

Murthy was blessed with two daughters and his elder daughter Lakshmi married one Devanand and blessed with a child.

Due to family dispute, they were separated legally. After his retirement in 2013, Murthy came to Kancharpalem from Kharagpur and residing in his own house and daughter Lakshmi is also residing with him.

When Lakshmi went to Andhra University to apply for distance graduation degree, she was accompanied by J Varaprasad, a senior assistant in record section.

They both became friends and Varaprasad used to visit Lakshmi’s house and also helped in doing some works as a family friend. He also assisted in acquiring a loan from bank. Meanwhile Varaprasad was separated from his wife. Later, Murthy’s family on several reasons started avoiding Varaprasad and maintaining distance with him. Unable to digest this development, Varaprasad decided to kill Murthy and sketched a plan, along with Jagadeesh, a resident of Poorna market area.

They both called up Murthy and they went to Andhra University residential quarters area.

Varaprasad was residing in quarter 19. After brief encounter, the accused attacked Murthy with deadly weapons and killing him on the spot. Later, the duo fled the spot.
