Municipal Administration Minister P Narayana has said that Suryanamaskaram is a traditional workout to get valuable Vitamin-D from the Sun rather a routine exercise and the practice had been initiated centuries ago as the saints realised its real significance.

Nellore: Municipal Administration Minister P Narayana has said that Suryanamaskaram is a traditional workout to get valuable Vitamin-D from the Sun rather a routine exercise and the practice had been initiated centuries ago as the saints realised its real significance. He participated in the programme at VR College grounds in city on Sunday.

He said that the society would be developed when the people are built with mental and physical strength.

Speaking on the occasion, Minister Narayana said that human beings get vitamin-D sufficiently with Surya Namaskar and it has top priority in mythology. Surya Namaskar also helps in functioning of respiratory and cardiovascular system, he said.

``Prime Minister Narendra Modi, understanding the need for all human beings who face stress and strain on a regular basis, had taken the Yoga to global level,’’ said the Municipal Minister. He also explained that Yoga has become a part in Indian culture and urged the people to practise Yoga daily for healthy life. Collector R Mutyala Raju said that every person has to set up plans in the morning itself before sunrise to work on the day.

They have to review previous day’s activities for better planning. Collector asked the people to practise yoga every day. APIIC Chairman P Krishnaiah said that Surya Namaskar is a process to thank to the nature. Guru Krupa Natya Mandali had performed a dance ballet on Surya Namaskaram. Nellore Yoga Mitra Mandali had performed 12 types of Yogas on the stage. Joint Collector A Md Imtiyaz Ahmed, Joint Collector – 2 Venkata Subba Reddy, Nellore RDO D Haritha, ICDS P D Prasanthi and others were present.
