The Tirupati Wildlife Forest Division has launched a poster campaign at Kapila Theertham on Monday, to prevent fire mishaps in Seshachala forest. Speaking to the media, the Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) D Phani Kumar Naidu said that the Tirupati Wildlife Circle had set up fire lines spread over 400 km to prevent fire accidents in the forest.  

Tirupati: The Tirupati Wildlife Forest Division has launched a poster campaign at Kapila Theertham on Monday, to prevent fire mishaps in Seshachala forest. Speaking to the media, the Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) D Phani Kumar Naidu said that the Tirupati Wildlife Circle had set up fire lines spread over 400 km to prevent fire accidents in the forest.

In addition, the DFO stated that 80 outsourcing staff were appointed to douse forest fire flames if spotted. Phani Kumar said that those who are responsible for fire mishaps in normal forest area would face an imprisonment of six months and 3 years jail for causing fire accidents in the zone falling under the wildlife sanctuary.

He mentioned that 250 metric tonnes of red sanders logs seized by the Forest department were kept in wildlife management depots and the same will be shifted to central forest godown at Thimminaidupalem.
