Expedite project works, officials told
District Collector S Satyanarayana has directed the officials concerned to expedite the irrigation projects works, which were still under various stages of construction, on a priority basis.

In a meeting with the officials, the Collector reviewed the status of Pulakurthy, Srisailam Right Bank Canal (SRBC), Galeru Nagari Sujala Sravanthi (GNSS), Telugu Ganga Project and Handri Neeva Sujala Sravanthi (HNSS) irrigation projects at the conference hall here on Tuesday.
Speaking on the occasion, Satyanarayana has instructed the officials concerned to complete the Pulakurthy project works by the end of February and warned that severe action would be initiated against contractors and officials if they failed to complete it on time.
Without compromising on the quality of works, the Collector informed the officials to complete works of SRBC-1 within a stipulated time and GNSS works by the end of July. He asked the officials to submit a proposal for the number of bridges to be constructed across the HNSS for the benefit of the farmers. He also advised the engineers and officers to inspect the works being carried under the Neeru-Chettu programme.
He directed them to check the quality of works in the constructions of ponds, water tanks, check dams and feeder channels. He suggested setting up of sign boards with full information pertaining to the works done under Neeru-Chettu programme and ordered them to complete the works of the farm ponds at the earliest. Speed up land acquisition works pertaining to irrigation and drinking water schemes, he stated.
Taking into farmers welfare into consideration, the state government has taken up the construction of irrigation projects. Those projects need to be completed as per schedule, the Collector said, adding if any problems arise out of land acquisition then they should get it resolved through the Lok Adalat.
Joint Collector V Prasanna Venkatesh, DRO Sasi Devi, Chief Planning Officer Anand Naik, RDOs Ram Sunder Reddy and Obulesu, Superintending Engineer Sriram Murthy and other officials were present.
