Fishermen intensify stir
As part of their ongoing agitation, fishermen staged a protest on the sea shore at Bandaruvanipeta beach in Gara mandal in Srikakulam district on Tuesday by demanding the government include the in ST category.Â
Srikakulam: As part of their ongoing agitation, fishermen staged a protest on the sea shore at Bandaruvanipeta beach in Gara mandal in Srikakulam district on Tuesday by demanding the government include the in ST category.
They intensified their agitation on the occasion of completing 50 days on Tuesday. In the morning, they took out rally from Gara mandal headquarters to Bandaruvanipeta and staged agitation on the shores of the Bay of Bengal. On the occasion, they found fault with the lethargic attitude of the government in addressing their long pending demand.
They questioned the Telugu Desam government and its leaders why they are not responding properly over their demand as it was assured during elections to get their votes.
Fishermen community elders from Kalingapatnam, Bandaruvanipeta and other villages participated. Mylapalli Janardhan, M Phalguna Raju, M Sriramulu and other community leaders took part in the agitation.
