Nellore: YSR Congress chief Y S Jaganmohan Reddy showered sops on the weavers’ community at a meeting at Kalichedu in Sydapuram mandal on Tuesday as part of his Praja Sankalpa Yatra on the 75th day.

Jagan vowed to work for the welfare of weavers and to uplift their living standards.“I assure you that we would sincerely resolve all your issues. If I am able to form the government with all your help, would certainly arrange a separate Corporation, pension for the women just attaining the age of 45, relaxation in Arogya Sri scheme and waiver on loans.

We declare the assurances during BC Garjana which would be organised after completion of this Yatra,” Jagan said at Chenetala Atmeeya Sammelanam at Kalichedu village. He said the ruling party had cheated the people with fake assurances in their election manifesto.

“We provide pension to the women from weaker sections just when they attain 45 years of age. This would be an assurance to the family. We would restructure the Arogya Sri scheme completely providing total security to the people even for Rs 1,000 worth treatment.

We shall also give pension of Rs 10,000 to the long standing ailments. A separate Corporation exclusively for you to bail you out from longstanding problems,” Jagan said amid huge applause from the participants. S Eswaraiah explained about problems of weavers. Tulasi Krishna asked for representation in the House for the community.

Krupa Nidhi said that he would vote for YSR Congress even though he belonged to the ruling party. A weaver from Venkatagiri said even though they were producing state-of-the-art sarees there has been no support for their livelihood. He asked for Rs 5,000 pension to the award winners, concession in travel and loan facility for taking up any small business.

Srinivasulu from Venkatagiri asked what had happened even though the State government collected data of weavers thrice earlier. Jagan assured that he would do the best to win the hearts of the community people if he secures power. ZP Chairman B Raghavendra Reddy and others were present.
