CPI leaders and cadre organised a protest with black flags before Ambedkar statue here on Thursday evening. Addressing the party cadre, CPI district secretary Ramanaidu said the budget has disappointed the people of the state.

Even though, many agitations were taking place for railway zone, there was no mention of that in the budget. No funds were allocated in the budget to make Tirupati railway station a world class one.

It is a shame for Modi government to say after five years farmers income will be doubled, he criticised. He said there was no clarity on the announcement of setting up one medical college for every three constituencies. It was mockery to say that growth rate has increased by demonetisation.

CPI city unit secretary Chinnam Penchalaiah said the budget was in favour of corporate people and investors and poor will get nothing out of it. No funds were allocated for the labourers working in informal sector.

There was no mention about the capital construction at Amaravati and special category status, and special package. Even then, ruling TDP is keeping silent and not responding on the injustice done to the state. CPI leaders P Murali, K Radhakrishna, ND Ravi, Chandrasekhar Naidu, Rathnamma, G Sasi Kumar, Siva Reddy and other participated in the protest.
