Amaravati: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu announced that the government will organise AP Innovation Summit in order to make the State as Innovation Valley. Apart from it, the government will organise Happy Cities Summit with a theme of ‘Urban transformation to Global Living’, announced Chandrababu Naidu at a review meeting with CRDA officials on Wednesday.

The Happy Cities Summit will be held between April 10 and 12 in Bhavani Island on Krishna River. The Chief Minister said that discussions and seminars should include citizen-centricity urban innovation, next generation technology, urban planners, urban transportation, architecture and designing.

“These areas are very crucial for the making of the capital, and must be focused on during the Summit,” he said. He also asked officials to emphasise on the Innovation Valley being set up in AP, in all activities planned. Officials said that workshops will be organised, to benefit city administrators, Mayors, urban planners and other key stakeholders.

They also proposed to make Rockefeller Foundation the Platform Partner and Bloomberg Philanthropies the media partner. They also proposed to invite State leaders from UAE, Bhutan, Singapore and Ministers in the Central government. Amaravati Marina: Across 6 acres, Amaravati Marina will establish a boat launch facility, with a water treatment plant, a training centre for sailing and power boating and refreshment facilities.

Chandrababu Naidu said that the CRDA should proceed to implement this on a Public Private Partnership - PPP mode, and complete administrative approval soon. IT Towers: Two IT towers with a space of 1 million square feet will come up in Amaravati.

The space will be sold to IT or Information Technology enabled Services (ITeS) companies, and will fetch revenue of Rs 90.6 crore to CRDA. Container hotels: Beetle Smart Hotels gave a presentation on providing world class hotel facilities by recycling used shipping container vehicles. An operational hotel can be set up within 3 months and save the time consumed for construction using bricks or mortar.

The Chief Minister said that he wanted 100 rooms to be set up in Amaravati, but before that, rooms must be set up in Amaravati to cater to the accommodation requirement during the Happy Cities Summit. Officials also presented a detailed proposal to set up Gandhi Memorial Park, for which 19.5 acres of the Sakamuru Park has been allotted. They also presented the revised proposal of the NTR Statue to be erected on Neerukonda Hill, which will now be 33-m tall.
