New guidelines to ensure 10k income to villagers
To ensure Rs 10,000 monthly income to each family, the Panchayat Raj department has taken a key decision changing guidelines of employment generation scheme.
Visakhapatnam: To ensure Rs 10,000 monthly income to each family, the Panchayat Raj department has taken a key decision changing guidelines of employment generation scheme. Now, one person can avail multiple benefits under the employment generation scheme. All these years, if a person benefited with one scheme, he/she is not supposed to avail any other scheme further.

However, to ensure Rs 10,000 minimum monthly income, the Panchayat Raj ministry is now giving multiple opportunities after bagging 33 best panchayat awards out of 100 across the country. The Union Ministry of Rural Development selected 100 best panchayats under the Mission Antyodaya last month and 33 were selected from Andhra Pradesh.
With this, Minister for Panchayat Raj Nara Lokesh directed the officials to ensure each family in the villages get at least Rs 10,000 monthly income by implementing more schemes. The minister directed the officials to make all 2,545 villages under Mission Antyodaya as best panchayats by March 2019.
After the state bifurcation, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu started seven missions, five grids and five campaigns to develop the state in achieving top position among three top states. The ministry of Panchayat Raj introduced 10 tasks to develop each panchayat as best panchayat. To achieve the task, the ministry linked up 23 departments with MGNREGA.
Speaking to The Hans India, Panchayat Raj Commissioner B Ramanjaneyulu said “Our responsibility has been doubled with the government selecting 33 villages as best panchayats from the state under Mission Antyodaya.
The main concept of Mission Antyodaya is to increase monthly income of people in rural areas. We have only weapon is MGNREGA and implementing ‘3-M’ (Money, Material Manpower) to provide large number of works to unemployed.
Andhra Pradesh is only state ensuring Rs 10,000 monthly income to each family. The ministry already categorised the families into three according to their monthly income. Now we are overcoming issues to ensure Rs 10,000 monthly income to families by providing multiple benefits.”
The government directed the bankers, welfare departments and corporations to sanction loans for various self-employment units without any hassles. All the concerned departments have been strictly directed to ensure sanction of loans to all people whose monthly income is below Rs 5,000. At average 5 to 10 families in each village are leading lives with below Rs 5,000 monthly income, the PR Commissioner said.
