TUDA team comprising its Chairman Narasimha Yadav, Vice-Chairman Ch Hari Kiran and Secretary Madhavi Latha have learnt from the officials of the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation and Ahmedabad Urban Development Authority (AUDA) as to how they have succeeded in convincing the people for giving up their lands for development projects to get better facilities for them.

The TUDA wants to build a world class economic city in 200 acres at Renigunta or Settipalli located on the outskirts of Tirupati. Narasimha Yadav held a meeting with Tirupati Sub-Collector Nishanth Kumar and revenue officials about the availability of land for the proposed economic city.

Likewise, the TUDA wants to build a sports village with international standards close to international airport and proposed 61.6 km-long Multi-Modal Transit System (MMTS) between Srikalahasti and Chandragiri via Tirupati for the convenience of pilgrims and tourists.

The MMTS will be taken up at a cost of Rs 1060 crore. The TUDA proposed shopping malls and amusement parks for children keeping in view of IT employees. Another proposal of TUDA was to construct modern bus terminals at Chandragri, Tirupati, Renigunta, and Yerpedu mandals at a cost of Rs 860 crore.

Speaking to The Hans India, Narasimha Yadav said that they have studied the development of urban infrastructure in Navi Mumbai and Ahmedabad and want to replicate the model for procuring the funds and development of infrastructure through the Public-Private Partnership (PPP).

He stated that the residents in Navi Mumbai and Ahmedabad handed over their lands to civic bodies on profit sharing basis. “We are planning to convince the people for giving up their lands for urban housing and for other mega projects.
