Amaravati: The BJP reacts in other way on the Union budget with respect to the state making the issue more complicated that the state government did not submit Detailed Project Reports and other required proposals to the Centre on Amaravati Capital City and other vital infrastructure projects.
Interacting with media just before attending Cabinet meeting on Friday at Secretariat at Velagapudi, BJP leader and endowment minister P Manikyala Rao said that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu did not submit DPRs to the Central government on the Amaravati Capital City.
He also added the State government did not provide DPRs on the Visakhapatnam and Vijayawada Metro rail projects to Union government. Hence the Centre did not allocate any specific funds to the state, he substantiated.
Manikyala Rao stated Finance Minister Arun Jaitley allocated sufficient budget for development of the state. Responding to BJP-TDP alliance, he maintained that the decision would be taken at the highest-level and added the presidents of both the parties are authorised persons to announce anything on the coalition. There was no need to respond on comments and criticism of TDP leaders till the party president N Chandrababu Naidu announce on it.
On the allocations to Polavaram project, he said the issue was resolved amicably before the presentation of budget. “This is an ongoing project and hence there was no need to mention every time. The funds will flow to the project as per the strategy adopted for completion of Polavaram through NABARD,” he added.
He observed the Centre has been giving helping hand to state government in construction of Amaravati capital city and it was proved by releasing Rs 2,500 crore. These funds were released despite not submitting DPRs on Amaravati capital city to Centre, he said and added the BJP government will support the construction of capital city.
