The stage is all set to start three-day Buddhist festival at PWD grounds in the city from Saturday under the aegis of Andhra Pradesh Tourism and Culture Department. Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu will inaugurate the festival.

Vijayawada: The stage is all set to start three-day Buddhist festival at PWD grounds in the city from Saturday under the aegis of Andhra Pradesh Tourism and Culture Department. Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu will inaugurate the festival.

The event is being organised in the name of Vishwasanthi Amaravati Bouddha Vaarasatva Mahotsavam. A peace rally would be conducted in the city at 7 am and the meetings would begin in the evening at 5 pm on the three days.

The monks from various countries would participate in Buddha dance at the event said Mukesh Kumar Meena, Principal Secretary to tourism department. The importance of peace and Amaravati would be highlighted at the event.

The dancers from Arunachal Pradesh would also perform special dance on this occasion, he said. The Buddhist center of Amaravati also would take part in the event. Deputy Speaker Mandali Buddha Prasad and Minister for Tourism Bhuma Akhila Priya were present.
