Left parties give a bandh call on Feb 8
The leaders of Left parties CPM, CPI, Liberation, Forward Block, CPI (ML) New Democracy and MCPI (U) gave call for total bandh on February 8 in protest against the non- allocation of funds in the Union Budget for the State. ,

Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee, Pratyeka Hoda Sadhana Samithi, Uttarandhra Abhivruddi Charcha Vedika, students and non-political JACs, also extended support to the bandh call. The leaders of Left parties took part in a meeting at the CPM state office here on Saturday. On the occasion, the leaders opined that injustice was done to the State in the Central Budget.
Especially the Budget did not mention the fiscal deficit in AP, creation of a separate railway zone, Kadapa steel plant, funds for capital Amaravati, they pointed out and added that the State could not get funds like Maharashtra and Karnataka.
The Centre has not made any announcement towards implementation of AP Reorganisation Act, the leaders said. They also observed that the government did not take any steps to solve unemployment. They appealed to all political parties, people and people's organisations to participate in the proposed bandh.
Cong plans protests at mandal headquarters from Feb 5: Meanwhile, PCC president N Raghuveera Reddy also extended his support for Left parties bandh call. He said the Congress would stage protests at all mandal headquarters in the state from February 5 to February 15. Releasing posters of protest programmes at Andhra Ratna Bhavan here on Saturday, he called upon all the political parties to join hands with them and take part in the agitation.
He also asked Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan as to why he was maintaining silence on Budget. He said the BJP and Telugu Desam were cheating the people.
