Man murdered over petty issue

A murder case was registered at Ukkunagaram, the Steel Plant’s township, in the city on Friday. Following a minor dispute in erecting a stall at the handicrafts mela at Trishna grounds here, a person killed another with an iron rod.

According to police, Para Singh (35) and Jakheer Singh (37), both hailing from Kolkata, came to the city to sell handicrafts at the mela. While erecting their stalls, they had a heated argument on a petty issue. However, others pacified both.
But on Friday, yet again, they quarreled and suddenly, Jakheer Singh attacked Para Singh with an iron rod and as a result he died on the spot. The accused Jakheer was taken into custody and body was sent for post-mortem.
