Chittoor: The AP Legislative Assembly Committee on Backward Classes Welfare Chairman G Thippeswamy on Tuesday made it clear that the officials should implement rule of reservation for the backward communities in all the government, semi-government, civic bodies and private institutions.

Members of the House panel headed by Thippeswamy held a review meeting with the district officials at DRDA meeting hall here. The panel head said that the government is committed for the welfare of backward communities. He further stated that there is no exemption or relaxation in rule of reservation for institutions and temples run by the Endowments department.

He stated Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has been implementing various welfare schemes for the uplift of the BC communities. The government is allocating exclusive funds for BCs through the BC sub-plan, he mentioned. Thippeswamy has appreciated District Collector PS Pradyumna for allocating 96 cents of land for the construction of BC Bhavan and BC Study Circle buildings at a cost of Rs 5 crore.

The ruling government wants to relaunch Adarana scheme with an outlay of Rs 1,000 crore, the panel chief said, directing the district officials to implement rule of reservation for BCs in letter and spirit. Earlier, panel members have received the petitions from the BC leaders at State Guest House.

ZP Chairperson Girvani Chandra Prakash, Joint Collector Girisha, Additional Joint Collector Chandramouli and other officials were present. The committee members also visited the Kanipakam temple.
