Penukonda (Anantapur): The Kia Motors Group which is in the process of establishing an automobile manufacturing unit has launched a 3-day sanitation and cleanliness drive in government schools in Penukonda region here on Monday.

As part of its social and corporate intervention, about 80 Korean students and 20 Sri Krishnadevaraya University (SKU) NSS volunteers launched a massive cleanliness drive in Penukonda Government High School and cleaned up the mess in the school premises including bathrooms and classrooms.

They also freely interacted with local school children and taught them among many things, cleanliness, neatness and personal hygiene and also on keeping their classrooms neat and tidy.

The foreign students also came forward to create basic amenities and infrastructure in government schools and also help improve quality of teaching and on methods of treating the children with kindness and love.

The Koreans set themselves to teach English language, paintings and singing and make the children happy. They said that the children who pass out of high school should develop such skills so as to get absorbed in the Kia Automobiles that will soon be established. The Korean students will spend 3 days and create awareness on several aspects. Children enjoyed their interaction with the Korean students.
