Visakhapatnam: Harnessing of alternative energy sources should be given top priority, said National Power Training Institute (NPTI) Director- General Rajendra Kumar Pandey here on Monday after inaugurating a one-week faculty development program conducted by the Department of Electrical Engineering at Dr YVS Murthy Auditorium in the AU Engineering College here on Monday.

Delivering his address, Pandey said that the instructors need to develop students' partnership. The information available on the Internet was not sufficient for research. The government was taking steps in producing 175 gigawatts of green energy which would provide quality solar electricity in rural villages and also in this process many of unemployed youth will get jobs.

It is our duty to provide quality education for the young people in the country as their number was on the rise now a days which was also a good sign of development said Srikakulam Ambedkar University Vice-Chancellor K Ramji.

Production and distribution of electricity is crucial and the conducting of training programs on such elements for teachers was a new trend which was evolving, said AU Vice-Principal of Engineering College MSP Babu.

The modern power distribution system was somewhat complicated which would be dealt with by coding and decoding softwares, said Electrical Engineering BOS Chairman GV Siva Krishna Rao. A large number of faculty members, research scholars and students were present on the
occasion.
