Visakhapatnam: With the mounting criticism of the Telugu Desam Party leaders against the BJP-led NDA government, the BJP city committee has decided to publicise the BJP government’s sanctions and allocations to the State of Andhra Pradesh in the budget.

It may be recalled that the state TDP leaders alleged that the BJP government was cheating the people of the State with regard to the Special Category Status and the allocation of financial resources for various development projects.

While addressing the party cadres meeting here on Monday to refute the charges, BJP Floor Leader in the Assembly P Vishnu Kumar Raju said that the Central government has allocated Rs 1.38 lakh crore for the health care of the common people and Rs 2,000 crore allocated in 2018-19 budget.

Vishnu Kumar Raju explained the allocations made in annual budget for various projects in the state. They include Kotipalli-Narsapur new railway line at Rs 430 crore, Vizianagaram-Sambalpur third railway line at Rs 90 crore, Nadikudi-Srikalahasti new railway at a cost of Rs 340 crore, Khajipeta-Vijayawada third line at a cost of Rs 100 crore, Nallapadu-Gunthakal electric lines works at a cost of Rs 150 crore and several other such railway projects at different parts in the state. Raju explained to cadres about the BJP government’s allocations to Andhra Pradesh.

MLC PVN Madhav said the Centre has allocated Rs 10 crore to AP Central University, Rs 54 crore for AP NIT, Rs 50 crore to IIT, Rs 42 crore to IIM, Rs 30 crore to IIIT and Rs 5 crore Indian Institute of Packaging. The government also allocated Rs 32 crore to Indian Institute of Petroleum, Rs 19.62 crore to DCIL and Rs 108 crore to Visakhapatnam Port Trust, he added.

BJP City Committee president M Nagendra lashed out at the TDP leaders for their unwarranted criticism against the BJP government. He said that instead of settling the issues across the table, the TDP leaders disturbing the cordial relations between the two parties.

According to the assurances listed out in the AP Reorganisation Bill – 2014, only five issues have to be addressed including Central University, Tribal varsity, Duggarajupatnam Port, Kadapa Steel Plant and Railway zone with Visakhapatnam as headquarters, Nagendra pointed out.
