The Machavaram police on Tuesday arrested one person accused of murdering his wife suspecting her fidelity. He is working as a tailor at Gayatri Nagar. His wife, too, was working in a tailoring shop at VMC Colony.

The husband was suspecting fidelity of his wife and decided to eliminate her. He purchased a bottle of petrol on January 27 and attacked his wife and set afire near the burial ground at Sunnapu Battela Centre.

The injured woman was shifted to a hospital and died on February 4. Machavaram police arrested the husband and produced him before the media. The couple married 16 years ago and has two children a girl was studying Intermediate and son studying seventh standard.
