Venusgeo/7inQ and IIT Tirupati have signed a MoU here on Wednesday for setting up a Centre of Excellence (CoE) for product engineering and IoT, with application to some of the major focus areas that IIT Tirupati has identified including but not limited to smart infrastructure, energy, food science and engineering.

Tirupati: Venusgeo/7inQ and IIT Tirupati have signed a MoU here on Wednesday for setting up a Centre of Excellence (CoE) for product engineering and IoT, with application to some of the major focus areas that IIT Tirupati has identified including but not limited to smart infrastructure, energy, food science and engineering.

The CoE will train the students to design, develop and manufacture IoT products specifically catering to agriculture and industrial domains. Most of the faculty at IIT Tirupati have been trained in world class institutions and they will guide the students in the process of incubation of ideas. 7inQ will bring the industry expertise in product engineering and digital manufacturing to the CoE.

A major focus of this initiative is to create student entrepreneurs so that in turn they can offer employment to many. The CEO of 7inQ Giridhar Gadhiraju and IIT, Tirupati Director Dr KN Satyanarayana signed the MoU.

Speaking on the occasion, the IIT Director has said, “We are focusing on innovation, incubation and entrepreneurship. Our emphasis has been on global outlook with local relevance. Hence, we were keen to ensure that our first MoU with the industry be with a local organisation. This is the first step in this direction”.

According to the COO of 7inQ PVS Hari Muralidhar "This is a unique initiative that brings complete life cycle of electronic product system designing and manufacturing to IIT students. “This event was attended by IIT Dean Prof K Krishnaiah, IIT Registrar Prof Natarajan, IIT Jodhpur Director Dr CVR Murthy, CEO of Mangal Industries Vijay Galla, Raja Bhanupratap and others.
