Rajamahendravaram: People from different walks of life in the city expressed their opinions on one- day all party bandh organised on Thursday to mount pressure on central government to fulfil the assurances given in AP Bifurcation Act and for not allotting necessary funds to the state in its recent budget tabled in Parliament.

Speaking to The Hans India over the bandh, a housewife N Renuka has said that the one-day all party bandh is no use and cannot wake up Union government. If the political parties really want the development of the state, they should continue the bandh for some more days, as the people are ready to extend their co-operation in this regard.

Why the political parties were mum in this regard since four years and now came onto the roads, she questioned? If the political leaders have any commitment, they should continue the agitation till the central government do justice to the state, she said.

A vendor K Rajababu has said the bandh is nothing but an eyewash task of political parties. Since four years, the state has been passing through many problems which includes mainly funds crunch.

But all the leaders were mum and the central government should experience the wrath of the people in the state. At least now, the political parties should come under one roof to mount pressure on the Union government to fulfil our justifiable demands.

A teacher A Lakshman has said thanks to political parties for coming on the roads at least after four years and underlined the need to take up the agitation on the lines of Samaikyandhra agitation, as the people of all quarters are ready to plunge into agitation. It is the time to TDP government to take the help of all parties at least now.

The people cannot excuse the political leaders if the bandh is a political gimmick, he said. The hearts of the people in the state are burning and it is the right time to fulfil our demands, he added.

A student L Harathi has said the student fraternity is ready to participate in the agitation if the political parties come forward. It is time to all political parties to work together for the welfare of the state as well as for the wellbeing of the people. Meanwhile, the bandh was successfully completed in the city without any untoward incidents.
